The Public Relations Manager of the Shatta Movement, Sammy Flex, has confirmed that the group has received a court document from the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) regarding a request for Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale to consent to the shipment of his yellow Lamborghini to the United States.
In a social media post dated February 24, 2026, Sammy Flex said the matter has been referred to the artiste’s legal team for appropriate action.
“I wish to formally confirm, in my capacity as Public Relations Manager of Shatta Movement, that we have received a court document issued at the instance of EOCO regarding a request for Shatta Wale’s consent in relation to the shipment of the yellow Lamborghini to the United States of America,” he stated.
He added that Shatta Movement’s legal representatives are handling the issue through the proper legal channels and urged the public to allow due process to take its course.
Background to the Seizure
On August 5, 2025, EOCO seized a 2019 Lamborghini Urus from Shatta Wale’s residence.
According to an earlier press release signed by EOCO’s Acting Executive Director, Raymond Archer, the seizure followed a June 2025 operation triggered by a 2023 request from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the United States Department of Justice.
Investigations reportedly linked the luxury vehicle to proceeds from criminal activities connected to Nana Kwabena Amuah, who is currently serving an 86-month prison sentence in the United States for multiple financial crimes.
Ownership Questions Raised
EOCO indicated that during questioning, Shatta Wale was unable to provide documentation proving ownership or evidence of a lawful purchase of the Lamborghini.
According to the agency, the artiste claimed the vehicle was acquired from a seller who contacted him via WhatsApp. However, he reportedly could not provide further identifying details or contact information for the alleged seller.
The development has generated widespread public debate, with supporters calling for transparency and critics urging thorough investigations.
What Happens Next?
With EOCO now seeking Shatta Wale’s consent for the vehicle’s shipment to the United States, the case appears to be entering a new legal phase. The artiste’s legal team is expected to respond formally in the coming days.
The situation continues to unfold, and further updates are anticipated as both Ghanaian and US authorities proceed with investigations.
