The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Hon. Naser Toure Mahama, popularly known as McNaza, has reportedly passed away.

Early Life and Education
Born on March 17, 1965, Hon. Naser Toure Mahama hailed from Nima in Accra. He attended West Africa Senior High School for his secondary education before enrolling at Central University College, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing in 1987.


He later enhanced his leadership and governance credentials by earning a Diploma in Governance from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), as well as an MBA from Doshisha University in Japan.


Political Career
Hon. Mahama entered Parliament in 2013 after winning the Ayawaso East seat in the 2012 general elections on the ticket of the NDC. He went on to represent the constituency for multiple terms, building a reputation as a dedicated and people-focused legislator.


In the 2024 general elections, he secured a resounding re-election victory, polling 22,139 votes, equivalent to 70.85%, against his closest opponent who garnered 9,110 votes (29.15%). His decisive win underscored his popularity and strong connection with constituents.
Professional Background and Personal Life
Outside politics, Hon. Mahama had a solid background in business and management. He served as Managing Director of Aminasei Oil Company in Accra from 1993 to 2011 and also worked with OTA Forex Bureau between 2001 and 2003, among other professional roles.
He was a Muslim, married, and a father. Many admired his ability to combine private-sector experience with public service, which reflected in his legislative work and constituency advocacy.
